Pre?pa?ra?tory course for the au?di?tio?ning process

Online pre?pa?ra?ti?on courses
From November 2025: Applied piano playing, music theory and aural training
During the lecture periods (winter and summer semesters), online preparatory courses are offered, which can be attended either as a complete package or individually:
- Applied piano playing with Christoph M. Gerl (Thursdays: 4–5 p.m.)
- Aural training with Lars Opfermann (Fridays: 7–8 p.m.)
- Music theory with Ya-Chuan Wu (Saturdays: 9–10 a.m.)
In addition to the preparatory courses, there will be an in-person day on Saturday, 29 November 2025, during which workshops in all three subjects will be offered on the premises of the MHL.

Compact weekend
8 to 10 May 2026 at MHL
During the compact weekend from 8 to 10 May 2026, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet students and lecturers, familiarise themselves with the MHL premises and receive input on the various parts of the examination in workshops. All participants can be accommodated by students.
