Student Coun?sel?ling
Studying music in particular leads to the acquisition of individual skills. The focus is on developing artistic personality in all its diversity. For this reason, the degree programmes and fields of study at the MHL include a wide range of profile modules and free elective elements that can be combined individually. The MHL provides information about the options available in consultation sessions. It also offers the following assistance to prospective students and current students:
General Student Counselling
Questions about the degree programmes and courses offered by MHL will be answered in a personal consultation. Before the consultation, it is essential to take a look at the degree programmes.

Information about the advisory structure that will be in place from October 2025 will be provided here shortly. Until then, please email Mr v. Streit with any questions you may have.

Career coun?sel?ling from the MHL-Career-Center
Einzelberatungen
Equal Op?por?tu?nities Of?fi?ce?rs
The equal opportunities officers are committed to equal opportunities for all genders and respectful, non-discriminatory coexistence at MHL. They develop appropriate awareness-raising programmes for the university and actively work to break down structural barriers. In confidential consultations, they support students and employees in recognising and addressing forms of sexual discrimination and harassment and in finding appropriate steps to improve the situation.

Di?ver?si?ty Of?fi?ce?rs
The diversity officers are committed to promoting an inclusive and appreciative atmosphere at MHL. They raise awareness of different life realities at the university and develop concepts for a study and work environment that enables equal participation for all, regardless of origin, gender, religion, age or disability. In confidential discussions, they support students and employees in classifying experiences of discrimination and, upon request, refer them to appropriate contact points.
Con?fi?den?tial ad?vi?sors for se?ver?ely dis?abled persons
The representatives promote the participation of severely disabled employees in the MHL by advising and supporting them and representing their interests to the university. They help with filling out applications (assessment and equal treatment applications), advocate for workplace equipment that is accessible to people with disabilities, and provide information about external support services.

MHL Trust Team
The Trust Team is a low-threshold and confidential point of contact for all university members – students and employees alike. The members of this team are specially trained, work independently and offer advice, guidance and support when situations become unclear, stressful or transgressive. As a support and empowerment service, the Trust Team helps to establish contacts and identify possible ways forward – always with the aim of respecting and strengthening the autonomy of those seeking advice.
